Overview

Grøndal and Storelvi is the upper and lower part of the famous river Ekso, which runs through Eksingedalen. Here the locals have created an attractive fishing venue that really stands out. With their love for the river they have cultivated Ekso into one of Western Norway’s best brown trout rivers for fly fishing.

The cultivated part of Ekso lies in the middle of the valley and extends from Flatekvalfossen in the west to the waterfall Vetleglupen in the east and is approx. 7 km long.  The upper part of the river stretch has alternating rapids and calm parts allowing for variety and different challenges when choosing flies. The lower part have long stretches where the river flows slowly. For a more balanced and naturally stock regulation the river keepers has since 2000 conducted intensive conservation work which should make for a great day’s fishing.

Whether we drive from Bergen or meet up by the river, a guided trip to Ekso starts bright and early. Ekos is perfect for all kinds of fly fishing. Regardless of the conditions, your guide will find suitable techniques that increase the chance of catching fish. A long fishing day also needs a good lunch and in the middle of the day we will put down our flies for a delicious lunch where we can sit and reflect on the morning’s catch and prepare for the afternoon.
