Do something different than the standard getaway weekend for your business or team building trip. Get out of the city and catch up with nature and the art of fly fishing? Groven mountain lodge is located in Skurdalen 10 km south of Geilo. Its a peaceful place and sights 930 meters above sea level. From the lodge you can see Skurdalsfjorden, the entrance of Hardangervidda and Hallingskarvet.
The name Groven comes from the small river (grovi) that runs through the property. This river comes from Grovetjern – one of 5 good wild stocked trout waters belonging to the property and is the closest water to explore from the lodge. In addition to the waters there are also beautiful river trails with high qualitiy trout fishing, offering good opportunities for fish over 1 kg. All of the waters has spectacular view towards Hallingskarvet, which is a mountain ridge that extends around 35km from Geilo and west. All waters and rivers are easily accessible – max 10 – 30 min walking distance. If hiking/biking is your passion the place is perfect for that as well. Other activities are also available and are something we can arrange on request.
As a part of your stay we want you to get introduced to the art of fly fishing and outdoor life. This means you will get a stage one course in the basic of casting a fly rod, as well as what kind of flies and equipment thats used to get started. When this is done we suit up for fly fishing in one of the waters around Groven. Don’t hesitate to contact us so we can discuss more about how we can make your stay suitable.
This symbols our work for a cleaner world. So to help out, we encourage everyone to be good examples and pick up waste when fishing or using nature.
